72 Polaris ATX 530 Custom
« on: June 26, 2009, 11:31:18 PM »
A few months ago I decided it would be fun to take a 72 Polaris ATX 335 chassis and fit a 530 free air fuji engine into it.  So, I rounded up a good chassis to start with.  Next, I got a 530 free air engine from a friend.  Engine was in rough shape with a bad cylinder and piston.  Got a nos set of cylinders, pistons, rings, and wrist pins.  Also came up with a correct set of free air heads.  Here are some pics.

Cool project Jesse...  2utp
You gonna update the ignition system with some modern parts? I'd throw some Indy parts in there as long as you got it that far apart.

Not sure what you mean by adding indy parts to the ignition system?  Didn't even know that was possible and what parts would even be updated?  Sounds interesting though.

Finished the engine this afternoon.  Fully rebuilt crank with new bearings and rods, nos cylinders, pistons, rings, and wrist pins.  This thing might actually run now. 8)
