Sorry for not getting a progress report out sooner...

Snow is packed, straw bought and stored dry, and water to be shot tonight and tomorrow. Offically we WILL be racing on this Sunday Dec 12 @ noon IF we have proper and safe ice. BRRP will make the final decision on Thursday or Friday as to the Sunday show and will annouce via vintagesledders.com, vintagesleds.com and brrpspeedway.com. We do want to race but seeing as this is our first try at ice, we didn't attempt last week due to high winds.

The plan is to lay ice four straight days and then send you a video as to how the how the track looks.

I personally think we should have a "practice" test/tune day first on Sunday. It will help everyone get used to the track and see what we need and how the ice holds up before we have an all out first race. I am always the dusty downer on this stuff, but someone has to slow you down sometimes Randal!!!!!!


I think a test and tune day would be benefit the racers and the track. We can see how the staging works with sleds and how well we can make and maintain ice.

If we had 10 guys out to practice that would be awesome!

nope that race is on for the ORA schedule sometime in January I believe.

It's been a tuff last few days but BRRP has to cancel the Dec 12 date. While we have had good temps, wind and other factors have come into play to force our hand to cancel the race. We aren't happy about it but the main focus is on a quality, safe sheet of ice and we feel that by the time Dec 12 gets here the ice we have will be far short of our goals.

There's is a small schedule change. BRRP will run the regular show that was previously scheduled for Feb 19 on the 20th at NOON.
